Champagne Franck Bonville Avize Grand Cru Les Belles Voyes Blanc de Blancs Brut NV
Medium Bodied, Dry, Sparkling, Chardonnay, Drink now or cellar, 12% alc.
From the family's plot of 100 year old vines on a mid-slope of the Grand Cru village of Oger that yields super-concentrated juice. It is fermented in oak casks for two years and needs the aerating effect of a barrel to bring out and fully express its complexity, especially on the palate. Strong, vivid yellow in colour with quite developed aromas showing yellow fruits such as peach rather than lemon or lime. On the palate, however, it is still quite restrained with delicate, complex flavours and a long finish.

Larmandier-Bernier Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru
Light-Medium Bodied, Dry, Sparkling, Chardonnay, Drink now or cellar, 12% alc.
This is made from 100 per cent Chardonnay (from Vertus 1er cru, and Grands Crus Cramant, Avize and Oger), a classic aperitif style – in the best sense of that term. The blend is predominantly 60 per cent 2007 and 40 per cent reserve wine from previous vintages along with a minuscule dosage of 4gm. An absolute cracking wine - intense, tangy, pure and long - that would put most so called 'prestige cuvees' to shame.
“The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru is elegance personified. Smoke, minerals, chalk and pears emerge as this generous yet subtle wine opens up in the glass. Sweet floral notes develop with air, but minerality is this wine’s calling card, particularly on the finish, which is incredibly elegant and refined. Simply put, this is gorgeous juice.” 91 points - Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate

Larmandier-Bernier Brut Tradition 1er Cru
Light-Medium Bodied, Dry, Sparkling, 80% chardonnay, 20% pinot noir, Drink now and cellar, 12% alc.
A blend of 80 per cent Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 20 per cent Pinot Noir. The fruit is hand-picked predominantly from the 2005 vintage with one-third reserve wines from 2004 and 2002, and it has < 5gm dosage. A full, rich wine with a lovely cream texture and a striking earthy lick to close. This is Larmandier’s ode to the traditional, 'house' styles, although without the high yields and dosage.
“The Brut Tradition Premier Cru NV, which includes 20 per cent pinot noir also grown in Vertus, has more colour and a smoky, straw-like pinot aspect that turns strawberry-like in the mouth, while retaining great finesse and harmony, and extraordinary persistence.” Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald
“Larmandier-Bernier is a small privately owned champagne house making wines of superb quality. Although only 20 per cent of this wine is pinot noir, it shows good pinot presence in its smoky, complex nose. The savoury, appetising finish." Best Champagne, Uncorked Magazine 2007

Larmandier Bernier Rosé de Saignée Brut 1er Cru NV
"This is one of the most remarkable champagnes I have ever tasted. Quite a deep pink, it is almost impossibly perfumed - like a really good red burgundy, with forest fruit and spice aromas - and is intense, elegant, entrancing, crisp, juicy and endless in the mouth. Wow!" Max Allen, The Weekend Australian Magazine.
"Larmandier-Bernier's NV Extra Brut Rose de Saignee is one of the most profound wines I encountered in my tastings... Larmandier-Bernier completely redefines what Rose can be all about with this monumental effort..." 96 Points, Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate

Larmandier-Bernier Rose de Saignee Brut 1er Cru NV
Light-Medium Bodied, Dry, Sparkling, Pinot Noir, Drink now or cellar, 12% alc.
This is something quite different. Saignée literally means "to bleed". In winemaking parlance, it means to use the 'free run' juice of a grape, which is drawn off the grape skins prior to, or shortly after, the start of fermentation. In this case, the grapes (100% Pinot Noir) are allowed to macerate for several days before the juice is drawn off and it is this 'soak' that gives the colour and much of the body and flavour to the wine. This technique is now extremely rare in Champagne where most Rosé is made by the addition of a little red wine. No dosage is added.

"Larmandier-Bernier's NV Extra Brut Rose de Saignee is one of the most profound wines I encountered in my tastings. The color resembles the tonality of blood orange juice. This is a powerful wine that flows onto the palate with an expression of bright red fruit that recalls the wines of Chambolle in its luxuriousness, but is backed up with serious structure. This compelling, totally seductive wine possesses awesome richness and vibrancy, with layers of aromas and flavors that continue to develop in the glass all the way through to the long, intensely satisfying finish. The wine could be served alongside any dish that might be served with grand cru Burgundy, but like all of the world's great wines, this is a bottle that creates its own occasion. Larmandier-Bernier completely redefines what Rose can be all about with this monumental effort. The estate's rose is 100% Pinot Noir from Vertus vinified on the skins (saignee) and bottled with 3 grams of dosage." 96 Points, Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, December 2008.

Larmandier-Bernier Terre de Vertus 1er Cru Non-Dose
Light-Medium Bodied, Dry, Sparkling, Chardonnay, Drink now or cellar, 12% alc.
This is 100 per cent old vine Chardonnay from the vineyard plots of Les Barillers and Les Faucherets situated mid-slope in Vertus. It is from one terroir and one vintage only - 2005.
"The estate's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Nature Terre de Vertus features notes of chalkiness, lime peel and flowers that recall a great Sancerre. This medium-bodied Champagne reveals a focused personality, with notable energy and freshness to spare on the finish. I found it hard to move on to the next wine. In a word: awesome...100% Chardonnay from the 2005 vintage, sourced from the Barillers and Faucherets vineyards in Vertus. The wine was aged in steel and bottled with zero dosage." 93 Points, Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, December 2008.
